To create an interesting and unique garden for a young couple, for relaxation and cooking, extending from the kitchen and living area.

Design Response:
We inherited the garden in the most basic of states. Three tired fences, existing concrete paviours, a couple of dying plants in pots and little else.
The entire garden was due an upgrade and our clients were very keen to create something both modern but with a point of difference.
Material choice dictated the style of the garden and we chose natural materials throughout.
Using Iroko for our floating bench and pergola, creating bespoke shelving units and kitchen area in the same material, combined with natural slate paving and reclaimed London Stock bricks.
The back fence belonged to the neighbours, who didn’t want it to be changed, so this was faced with wicker screening for it’s texture and a natural look.
Whilst geometrically simple, there were several details that took this garden to new heights, ie brick flooring detail, a curved feature bed for a standard Fig, a bespoke pergola on which an existing grapevine was encouraged to grow from the neighbours garden, a reclaimed iron fire place and a custom made outdoor kitchen.
